Aaaaaaaah, haven’t blogged in forever! I really have missed running my fingers along the slim, glossy black keys of my laptop. Not that I’m actually ON my laptop; more to that now..

You see, the reason I haven’t been on for ages is because I somehow broke my laptop. Not that I’m admitting I’m liable for the breakage (Which is what I keep telling my nan and grampy.. they’re the ones fitting the bill) Not that I have many followers which I suppose is my own fault for A) not advertising.  B) not buying my blog.  C) Breaking my laptop & not blogging..  D) Making interesting posts. However, no more! I figured I’d make this post kind’ve fun. Ish.

So I’m going to begin with something that may bore you but is really exciting for me and since this is the closest thing I have to a diary I might as well write it. Saturday at 8:40 a.m PRECISELY (For some reason Issie thinks I’ll be late, but let me tell you, I’ve never been late a day in my life. Everything and everyone just happens to be annoyingly early)

‘m going to be a model!  I wasn’t handpicked as such, and it’s not because anyone finds me remotely good looking but my best friend Issie is on a photography course and this week she gets to bring a friend – moi, in this instance – to be her model.  me: :D :D :D :D :D :D

So.. Ya! Next thing I wanted to cover was The Shuffle Game. Me and my other friend, coincedentally named Ezz as well, decided to have a few games ourselves in maths.  Now, there are loads of versions but I’ll explain three. The first one isn’t neccessarily as adaptable, but you have a conversation using the first few lyrics of a song. The second one is where you have questions, and you hit shuffle and answer with the first few lyrics of the song.

And finally, the third is where you answer questions with just the song name. I’ll demonstrate..

1. Someone asks if you are okay, what do you say?

Don’t stop the party.

 2. How would you describe yourself?

Sexy and I know it.

 3. What do you like in a guy?

Where dem girls at..

 4. How do you feel today?

 6. What is your motto?

 8. What do your parents think of you?

 9. What do you often think about?

 10. What is 2+2?

Weightless.

 11. What do you think of your best guy mate?

Sun goes down.

 12. What do you think of your best gal mate?

Sex on fire.

 13. What do you think of your mum?

I almost told you that I loved you

 14. What do you think of your dad?

Fly

 15. What do you think of your brother?

Marry the night.

 16. What do you think of your boyfriend?

WE ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Hi. Meet me, myself and I.

They really wanted to meet you.

Hola guys! So I’ve been meaning to post a picture of myself for a while now. Vain, I know. But I just thought it would be nice for you to know that I’m not actually an old man hiding behind a screen or something – not that there’s anything wrong with OAP’s storming through the internet or anything.

Anywho, thought I’d do another 100 things I love, and I know I said I’d do one everyday but it just gets tedious and.. and I’m a forgetful person, okay?!

So here we go, #3 of things that make me happy: Confidence. I love feeling comfortable in my own skin, and just feeling sure of something.

So apart from whipping my face out and displaying it on your screens (I take no pity on you, you decided to read this) And that’s the thing I wanted to discuss on this post..

“Confidence is feeling comfortable in your own skin.”

Sometimes, all that’s needed to raise your self-esteem is a kick-ass movie, perhaps a run. Other times it’s something bigger, like chanting “I AM BEAUTIFUL” to a mirror. I’m just going to list a few things that make me feel pretty good about myself. Because, you know how I like listing things. ; D

#1: Receiving a make over at the Estée Lauder counter at Boots.

So the incredibly kind ladies at Boots really seem to love me. I’ve only actually purchased one thing from their counter due to their high prices and the fact that as a 13 year old girl I need to try to conserve my money for other things; such as clothes and stuff. But there’s nothing like the feel of a blusher brush gently stroking your skin, it reminds me of my old blanket when I was little. And to make things better, you look all pretty after – which makes you feel beautiful.

#2: Going on an invigorating run outdoors.

Okay, so it’s safe to say I am possibly one of the most unfit people in the entire world, give or take a few people. But I do love going on runs, even if I have the stamina of a turnip. But the feel of the wind on your cheeks and hair is more than awesome, and afterwards you get this feeling in your legs where you could just run and run and run. Makes you feel alive.

#3: Splashing my face 20 times with cold water.

Very simple, I know. But it makes me feel fresh, clean and generally cool. Not in a “omg im the greatest thing since marmite” type cool, but an ice-cool.. it’s relaxing.

#4: When boys you know call you beautiful.

Sure, you really appreciate it when your girl friends say you’re beautiful and they’re jealous of you, but are they really? Even I admit to ‘stretching the truth’ a bit just to make them smile and feel better about themselves. But when boys say it, it seems more special because it’s almost like they’re making the effort, whereas it comes naturally to us girls. Even if those boys don’t mean it, it still means a lot.

#5: Looking in the mirror on a ‘good’ day, and likingggg

Well that sounds big-headed. But we all have those days once in a blue moon when our hair *GASP* behaves, our face isn’t broken out in spots/zits and our eyelashes are magically super long. And it’s those days where, personally, I take the time to appreciate what I’ve got. It’s evident and obvious that I’m not the prettiest girl in my classes, let alone the world. But what does that matter? I can only be me, everyone else is taken. And I’m cool with that.

And that concludes my little list of things that give me a little confidence boost! We are all beautiful. I am beautiful. YOU are beautiful. So, comment below with what makes you feel confident or beautiful!

Happy new year, give it your best 2012.

Seasons Easter, Merry birthday, Happy greetings!

Aloha you beautiful zebra. So it’s new years day now, and although I’d love to brag and tell you I had a RADICAL and AMAZING night, that would be lying. And as much as I’d reaaaally like to tell you I spent my new years eve wildly partying in london in a packed nightclub with J-lo and my babe of an RM teacher Mr Kilby (Him and J-Lo DEFINITELY have a ‘thing’ going on, just to fill you in) My night consisted of explaining to my grampy that Johnny Depp is going to wait for me, and then we’re gonna get married because Orlando bloom and Justin Bieber were ‘taken’ or ‘married’ and they failed to wait, and then debating with my nan who deserves him more. I won.

Yes, this is what happens when you sit on the couch watching Pirates of the Carribean and drinking tea, with the occasional dance/embarassing jig in the living room. All the same I am incredibly excited for the new year.

We English (unless you’re me) tend to celebrate it with a night of getting generally plastered, or at least a bit tipsy and counting down the seconds til midnight where we all clap and celebrate before collapsing on our beds exhausted. Here are a few other traditions..

-The Spanish ritual on New Year’s eve is to eat twelve grapes at midnight. The tradition is meant to secure twelve happy months in the coming year.

-The Dutch burn bonfires of Christmas trees on the street and launch fireworks. The fires are meant to purge the old and welcome the new.

-The most famous tradition in the United States is the dropping of the New Year ball in Times Square, New York City, at 11:59 P.M. Thousands gather to watch the ball, arriving exactly at midnight. The original ball was made of iron and wood; the current ball is made of Waterford Crystal, weighs 1,070 pounds, and is six feet in diameter.

I’m also especially excited to begin my Bucket list! Pictures and videos will be coming up soon, so stay posted! And remember one of them is to gain 100 followers on this very blog, so pleaseeeeee tell your friends! I’ll give you a cookie or two.

Have a good time, and stay safe.

Booze, grannies, presents, coconuts and spooning. What!?

Posted by: ezzsays on: December 23, 2011

#2 things that makes me happy: spooning (cuddling:)

So, Lodge night was prettaaay awesome! Unfortunately we didn’t get to make those Lodge Night Special chocolate spoons, but we had so much pizza around it didn’t really matter. It was a really good night, and it definitely raised my Christmas spirits! Blasting out festive songs, dancing around the cabin, getting presents (well, me), a fire in the middle of it all and lights on the outside. If that won’t get you out the scrooge mood, I don’t know what will.

Same day, my nan  and I were taking a trip in a taxi. We’d been doing some shopping in Bath we were on our way back. The whole way on the bus back, my nan was telling me tons of stories about when she was younger. The taxi driver and said OAP started talking about Christmas in their day, and this is when my nan shocked me a little. Bearing in mind she’s a bit of a G (We have a running joke of her being a massive gangster, which is even funnier because she’s only 5ft tall and looks about 5 anyway)

So as they were nattering on, my nan comes out with “Oh, the kids these days just don’t know how to do it! Back in my day, I remember on Christmas eve go out and get HAMMERED! Christmas day you had to try and eat your Xmas dinner with the biggest hangover ever and try to make yourself look normal.”

I burst out laughing obviously, and then they continued to talk about other things which are irrelevant to the story. And as we came in I thought to myself I love the smell of coconuts. I heart the scent of strawberries, and I absolutely adore the smell of vanilla; but none of them compare to old people smell. Because none of them come with as great stories and lovely personalities, and that’s why I love my nan.

So I’ve came to the conclusion that as much as I’d love coconut body shower gel and vanilla body lotion, all I really want is my family around me. I mean sure, I’d decided that beforehand but just my nan declaring her wild nights out accompanied by the booze really sealed the deal. Weird, huh?

I have a feeling this is going to be the best Christmas I’ve ever had – even in comparison to ‘The Christmas of tons of presents because we’re retiring soon’ Christmas, and not just because of the pressies.

Comment below what your best Christmas was and why! :)

omnomnom. Lodge Night Special?

Hot chocolate spoons 1Hot Chocolate Spoons

Hot chocolate spoons 3

I got this recipe from abeautifulmess’s blog (AKA Elsie Larson) and they seemed perfect for ‘Lodge Night’ with the girls+harry! I wanted to share it because it’s so easy to make, and it’s great for these icy, chilly winter months – and if you’ve got SAD (seasonal affective disorder) like me, it’s a good motivation to get you about in these dark days. :D

YOU WILL NEED

  • Marshmellows
  • Wooden Spoons
  • Chocolates
  • Other sweeties. :)

First you need to melt your chocolate. You can do this on the stove top or microwave. If you are doing it in the microwave I recommend adding 1-2 tablespoons of oil to the chocolate, melt it on high for 30 seconds, stir, repeat until it’s all melted. Now dip the end of your spoons in the chocolate, and top with various flavor combinations.

The above pictures are made chocolate with marshmallows, double chocolate (chocolate dipped with white chocolate drizzled over the top), chocolate mint that was topped with chopped Ande’s mints, and chocolate peanut butter (chocolate dipped with melted peanut butter drizzled over the top – which won’t be used in mine!!!). You can use any flavor combination that you think you, your friends or family might enjoy.

Happy holidays!

Nutella Sandwhich-cookies.

Nutellacookies

Nutella Sandwhich Cookies.. wha?!

Hey guys! So, you should know two things about me. I love marmite, and I can not fathom how anybody likes to eat Nutella, especially from the jar. This may lead you to question why on earth I decided to make and post this recipe to NUTELLA sandwhich cookies. Well, let me tell you they’re tastier in a cookie. But unfortunately I still hate Nutella.

PS: This post is dedicated to my lovely, nutella-addicted friend Ezz! :-)

This makes about 10-12.

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  •  1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •  2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon (aluminum-free) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • and plenty of Nutella (obviously)
Cream together the butter and sugars, stir in egg and vanilla. Now mix in flour, baking powder and salt until just combined. The batter should be crumbly and you will probably need to use your (clean) hands to combine it a bit more to form a dough ball. Cover in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 20 minutes
Now form into small round disks, about 2-3 inches in diameter and uniformly thick. You want your cookies to all sort of match each other in size because you will be placing one of top of another to form sandwich cookies. Bake at 350 F for 15-18 minutes, allow to cool completely on a cooling rack before adding filling. Once cool, spoon a couple of tablespoons of Nutella on one cookie and place another on top.
And now, you’re free to devour your creation. It’s pretty cool to make at sleepovers and stuff.
Y’know, unless you despise Nutella. Like me.

What is it with winter that just suddenly makes you want to have a ‘that special boy’? It’s even worse now that we have all this technology. Hello, constant facebook updates about your boyf’s! Even not-so-romantic-but-extremely-funny things get you. So as much as I love hearing about your boyfriend and you cuddling under a blanket by the fire, or him giving you a wedgie.. Well, actually I don’t.

And I’m not alone! I think it’s probably something to do with primitive instincts. Y’know, like our ancestors cavemen and women? Don’t get it? Okay, picture the scene. You and your cave-mate.. we’ll call him Jim have just managed to forage some nuts and berries, you would’ve got a deer or something but you had to escape that bloody mammoth again. It’s absolutely freezing, so what would you do? Chill on your own at the corner of the cave, with the occasional icicle forming out of your nostril where you’ve got the sniffles, or ‘share body heat’ with your maaaaan? Obviously he’d be quite hairy and all at that time period, but we’re in the 21st century now so that one special boy smells of Lynx, has cute hair and nice eyes. Do the math.

Well, did you know that you can fall in love with pretty much any old stranger? Yup, didn’t think so. You must know that when you’re flirting, eye contact is key. Well scientists did an experiment, as scientists do, where they made strangers look into each others eyes for two-three minutes. They all said they felt a ‘passionate connection’ or something like that, BUT rumour has it two of the paired couples ended up getting married! Weird, huh?

The moral of the story really is, stare at everyone. If you find this hard, imagine you’re a peadophile.

Kidding. (note: i do not take responsibility if you actually do stare at everyone like you’re a peadophile, and get arrested)

Happy holidays,

xo Ezz.

The perfect handshake

Bonjour whores! jokes.. Anyway, we use our hands the most – more than any other body part. And when you go to hold hands with that one special boy you don’t really want him to feel like he’s holding a piece of sandpaper. So here are a few tips to achieve oh-so-soft, clean hands.

  • SOAP & GLORY: Hand food and hand scrub. All their products are amazing, and make a difference.
  • Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. Put tons of it on, then whip some gloves on(not furry) and go to bed. When you wake up and take them off, your hands will softer than a baby’s bottom.
  • Mix one cup of warm water and the juice of half a lemon. Then, soak your fingertips in it for 5mins. Rinse and pat dry pushing back cuticles. Rub lemon peel against your nails back and forth vigorously, then finish by buffing with a soft cloth.
  • Yellow nails? Put some toothpaste on them! It whitens, polishes and adds shine to those badboys.
  • Wash your hands with warm water and moisturising soap. After rinsing, fill a small bowl with warm water and add a few drops of olive oil. Soak your hands in the warm water for about 5 minutes.

It’s great to fill time on a Sunday, too.
